How can I know if its in English or if its Japanese with Subtitles. I find alot of places like Amazon and HMV dont say which it is. and I much prefer Japanese with subtitles. Or do all dvd's usually come with an option of either? Any help would be appreciated.

Almost all dvd's come with both.

If you go to the product detail's box on Amazon it'll tell you what language's are available.

    E.g http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000MGAW0U/ref=s9_simh_gw_p74_d1_i3?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=0X0DZSQFRME687NN1GGS&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128473&pf_rd_i=468294

While on topic can you ever get anime boxsets with just japanese and the subtitles, now that would be nice

Only the odd time, when companies just rush something out or can't afford to produce a dub.

Surely having Japanese and English audio with subtitles beats having only Japanese audio with subtitles?
I mean either way you can watch Japanese with subtitles if you want.

Usually though the single audio ones come out faster and at a lower price.

I prefer to watch stuff in its original language with subs(not just anime foreign language films too), dubbing for me is the ultimate sin as they usually turn out awful monotone, with mispronunciation rampant

But thats just my opinion :D
