    If the e-mail just says:

    "<Body of Email>

    Sent from my iPod"

Then that's just the default email signature for an email sent from an iPod, it says iPhone and iPad for the respective devices, i'd assume.

You should reply to the e-mail, saying you want it back.

Nah, play it cool. Arrange to meet up for a coffee or something. Then when they show up slap them about a bit and take it back. They will have no doubt tried to conceal that they have taken it by probably engraving it as a "present from their wife" and probably got a new cover for it but don't let that fool you.

eh, leave slapping to professionals (Garda Síochána). Don’t just presume person who found / stole it from you will be some nerdy walk over type or you might be in for some ass-whooping yourself and this time you might “lose” your Iphone and wallet .

Change your email password and any other passwords (facebook, twitter etc) that the itouch is used for. Would have thought this was the first thing to be done when you lose something like that.

Jeez... the OP comes to the Board looking for help & all they get is a heap of sarcasm.

Here's what you do... just reply to the previous email you received... but before you do, change the signature on your email to say this
"Sent from YOUR house... now give me back my iPod!"

That'll really scare them & they'll probably just return it to the local garda station

guys its a standard signiture, somebody emailed the OP from their own iPod Touch. they all say "sent from my iPod" at the bottom.

I understood it, although not clearly stated, that he received an email from his own email account with the signature “sent form my ipod” Therefore someone has his ipod or has hacked in to his email account and is playing a joke.

OP, who was the email from?

Do you have it hooked up to use Gmail? They store logs of the ip addresses that connect to your email, and the iPod touch only has wifi so might be worth looking into. They may have used the Wifi connection at their house or something

theres some gullable people in this thread, like a few others have said every iphone/ipod by default puts ''sent from my iphone/ipod'' as a sig on emails
now unless the op changed it to whatever and the email had that sig i doubt its his one
have to laugh at all the suggestions about getting it back though
