Bare Escentuals

I have quite oily skin, however with a product that Im using at the moment to clear up my skin I also have some dry patches now.

A beautician recommended I start using Bare Escentuals makeup as its completely naturl it might hlp clear up skin.

So, I looked up the website and they say this

Do bareMinerals work with problem skin?
Yes, bareMinerals have protective and calming benefits. bareMinerals are recommended by dermatologists and other skincare professionals, and are perfect for a range of skin conditions including acne, rosacea, sensitive skin, dry skin and oily skin.

But Im very sceptical. Firstly, that the makeup would give enough coverage as its just a powder (Im sceptical of all powder foundations really), and secondly would it really have an affect on acne?

I'd love to hear if anyone else uses these products and if they've had any effects on their skin. Its a bit of an investments as my budget is a little pinched right now.

    Thanks!

I've used Bare Minerals regularly for a few years now and yes it does have a positive affect on greasy, acne prone skin. Forget the word powder - it is totally unlike any powder you may have used before and yes the coverage is fantastic. I cannot praise how good and easy to use this product is (and no I've no affiliation to the company!).

A few tips though - if your skin is very greasy you may have to put up with the powder becoming a bit cloggy looking after a few hours at first but simply run your brush over your face again and it will smoothen out. Buy the best brush you can afford. Buy your Bare Minerals on Ebay - the price in the shops here is crazy. But if you want to check out what shade will suit you best have a trial run done in any shop that sells Bare Minerals - just tell them you want to see how it feels on you skin for a few hours before you purchase.

    Hope that helps.

You can get the starter set on www.feelunique.co.uk for much cheaper than in the shops here, I always get my Bare Minerals there. I did buy on ebay one time, from the US, and I thought that the packaging was a bit dodgy looking and I didn't really trust it. I used get a lot of dry/flaky patches with any makeup I used before but I've been using Bare Minerals for about 2 years now and it's really evened out my skin.

Can't comment on anything other than the foundation as that's all I've used. It may be cheaper to buy for the US but would take forever to arrive and you may be hit with customs duty. I've bought from this seller in the UK on Ebay babydee1107 and have always found them to be very good.
