Contact lens power

Had an eye test today and went online to order contact lens...

Now I have my eye strength down but I forgot to ask for a prescription and cannot remember the power for my eyes! (bit slow this morning)

I don't know if this counts as medical advice but if I wear glasses for driving and seeing objects in the distance a bit clearer but don't need them for reading would that make me a + or a - ?

    Cheers

Your prescriptions for glasses and contacts are generally different. You need to get fitted for contacts by an optician and then buy them on line if you choose.

Myopia or nearsightedness means you can see better up close than you can at far distances and the power on your prescription ( single vision ) will be negative eg -3.50

Thanks. I've worn contacts of the same strength as my lenses for the past few years and my eyesight has improved (according to todays test).

So hopefully in two years I'll have 20/20 ;)
