Can I bring back this foundation?

    Hey guys

So after much consideration I went to dundrum yesterday to buy a Chanel foundation. Went to Harvey Nicks, but they were having a private event, so no browsing shoppers allowed. THey asked if I knew what I wanted, since I did, they let me in as I'd only be quick.

Basically I was trying ot choose between the pro-umiere and the vital-lumiere one. Since I was kind of under time pressure I went with the vital.

Now, it is nice enough, but it isn't as good as I expected. It doesn't give me the type of coverage I need that I think the pro one would.

So my question, can I bring this foundation back? I have a feeling no.. but for 41euro a go, it seems like such a horrible waste for a foundation that I don't find to be that great.:(

I only used it once this morning and thats it, what you think?? Would they let me exchange??

when you're buying pricey foundation you should always get samples first!!!

If the SA recommended the wrong colour for you Id say you could defo bring it back but I dont think there is a culture of returning make-up in Ireland. If you chose it yourself Im not sure if they have an obligation to change it for you as it was you who decided that one would be best for you.

I doubt they'd take it back tbh. Generally once the packaging has been opened, the product is deemed non-refundable. Maybe give them a ring to ask and make sure? You could try sell it on e-bay or adverts.ie though.

Bring in your own! Boots usually have empty little tubs that you use for bringing liquids on holiday. Only cost a few euro. If they won't give you a sample then, take your business else where.

Damn a sample!! Just wasn't thinking at the time, was very concious of the fact that they were doing me a favour letting me in in the first place since there was an event on.
(expensive) lesson learnt I guess :( Didn't think they would take it back but thought Id ask anyways

I think they might take it back. I've returned a moisturiser to Lancome because I didn't like it after using it.

If you want to be sure they'll take it back, tell them you developed a rash after using it and you think you're allergic and they will refund you.
