Itunes purchases retrevial

Hopefully someone out there can assist me with this question.
My little bro has deleted all his music from his itouch by resetting the itouch. I understand that all his music is now gone from his itouch.
I presumed this wasnt a major issue as he had this backed up on our pc at home he did not! He had been purchasing songs directly from the itunes store on his I touch.
I then presumed that this will still be not a major issue as Apple would have a record pf his purchases and when we enter his account on itunes we should see all his purchases and then just sync the itouch.
However this is not the case, only 3 of the albums he purchased appeared in there and 13 of the apps he purchases. I was able to view his purchase history and there were many more albums.
Can anyone offer my advice or instruction on how to restore the purchases itunes songs?

    Thanks

I think I've heard of people contacting apple and they sort out a way of re-downloading all your music. As for apps, if you have a list of the apps he had, just download them again. You hit 'buy' on the app store and it will prompt for the password, enter this and it will begin to download. A pop up will appear telling you that you have already downloaded the app, and asking if you want to download it again for free

You can freely redownload any apps that were purchased.

For music, you will need to contact the iTunes Store Support team on www.apple.com/ie/support/itunes/

On the bar on the left click on Music Purchases > Lost or Missing Items and press the Email Us button. Fill out the short form and explain what happened. They say they will contact you within 48 hours, but if they are busy that could take longer (was 5 working days when I needed to contact them).
