What is the best way to get to Rosslare from Newbridge? I live in UK but planning trip next month. All the maps i have seen don't have the M9 all the way to Waterford - I thought it might be quicker and safer to travel to Waterford and across to Rosslare from there. Any advice??

The maps are out of date - the M9 does reach Waterford now. From Newbridge, you should drive to Kilcullen, and get on the M9 there. You will be backtracking a good bit if you head to Rosslare via Waterford though, you'd probably be better taking the M9 to Carlow, then the N80 to Enniscorthy to head south on the N11 to Rosslare.

Waterford's over an hour away from Waterford but if you what to go via it just alight when you see signs for Rosslare and the N 25. It's motorway as far as Waterford now and the N 25 is generally a good road to drive

The main alternative is the M 7 towards the M 50 and the M/N11 which is a direct route throughout and again, it's generally good.

The best way from Rosslare to Newbridge is the following.

N25 from Rosslare. Then the N11. Then the N80 across to the M9. M9 north bound for Dublin. This takes you onto the M7 north bound. Exit at the next exit and follow signs for Newbridge. (assuming its Newbridge Co. Kildare that you mean.)

    Journey time - 90 mins.

Thanks - I wonder when the maps will be updated??? with the new roads that have been opened up this year.

    Some maps already have them.

www.openstreetmap.ie normally have new national route up on the same day, although the mapping is incomplete on minor roads.

The OSi Ireland atlas has all the new motorways, even the bits not opened yet. There website isn't too bad either, but the small scale maps need to be updated. http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,538801,687298,1
