    Hi

My iPhone 3GS that's out of warranty just died out of the blue today. Tried forcing it into DFU / recovery mode with no success.

Anyone know where I can have this looked at in Dublin?

    Cheers

    Obviously I've tried googling!

Unfortunately the top few results are pointing to a store that has a very bad reputation and have been discussed numerous times here.

I'm looking to see if anyone can actually recommend a store that can be trusted

I dropped my iPhone 3GS when I was out on the pull, cracked the screen. I took mine into the Tech Fixers on Rathmine's road and they sorted it out that day.

    Hi All..

My iphone 3gs screen is cracked but there is no more damage it is literally the screen...does anyone know where i can go in Dublin to get it repaired and how much it would cost. I was going to go to Fonemenders but i have read some reviews on here about them and they seem to more hassle then anything else...! i have no insurance as Vodafone never actually told me that you can only purchase insurance at point of sale and not after that apparently..

    hope someone can help me...:(:(:(

Take my advice and stay far away from Tech fixers as possible ..

i left my phone in with them for a simple antenna repair took 2 weeks then i
got a call to say my iPhone was dead .

you've been warned ...... there are tons of places on line ....

Friend of mine was quoted €70 for this same issue on Thursday. I went on eBay and bought a new screen with a repair tool kit and delivery cost €7!!!! There's videos all over YouTube showing how to fix them and it's easy enough. Try it and if it works, great. If it doesn't work then bring it in for repair and you only €7 worse off but a lot more knowledgable!!!!
Look at the videos first then Let's know what you decide.

€7 inc shipping is very cheap, cheapest I can see on ebay will come in at over €10, If buying one of these I'd advice getting a kit which the 3M sticker go's the whole way around the glass not just the top and bottom, otherwise you get dust/dirt between the screen/digitizer.
A lot of people end up breaking the connector for the earpiece which cannot be fixed(easily anyway) when they open them. I've seen some shocking damage done by DIY. you can get a Digitizer replaced for €50. why have an expensive phone with the screen hanging off or risk breaking it. I'd advise pay for a professional job.

    shocking :D
Only trying to give some advice if someone is doing a DIY, If your not confident, don't do it.

There is also a DIY tutorials and a parts only section on my website, is just not finished yet.

Great little place on George's Street, Electro Repair Centre. He changed speaker in my iphone for 40 quid. Took him 10 mins. Try him, its on the left hand side if your coming from Dame Street
