    guys,

need a little help. my kid is wrestling mad. i bring him to smackdown/raw every year for his b'day. for this years one we're off to tna in january :D

but he's asking me a lot about games for his xbox. now all the games ive seen so far are rated too high for his age, he's only 9. i know the ratings can be a little over the top but i do think a 15 game is a bit too old for him.

anyone know of any that would suit his age? thanks.

I dont have kids myself, but do have 7 nephews and a little brother.

    so based on that knowledge;
Going by the rating schemes, wwe games are given that rating because of the apparent violence. Because of course it is, a fighting game.

But with that in mind, something that generally isnt taken into account when rating a classification for a game is its difficulty.
Your 9 year old may have no problem playing the game and not getting ideas from it, but thats not to say he will actually even be able to play it.

As it is i could suggest an older 360 game thats a little more easy to pick up BUT, more than likely he wont know 70% of the wrestlers in the game.

What i would suggest is to keep an eye out for this coming up:
(unfortunately, its not expected to come around until after christmas)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_All_Stars

its a little more kid-orientated and over the top.

I can see it getting a G/U rating as its more of a cartoony take on wrestling.

But as for any games out at the moment?

Unless he has a DS, or wii, theres not much out there to be honest.

    cheers for the info dude,

its more the way i want to bring him up to be honest, he's aware that its not real violence but if i let him have a 15 game at this stage im basically saying its ok to do anything that has an upper age limit.

he definitly has no problem understanding the most complicated of games anyway (like all kids now).

good suggestion on the older games. the kid is like an encyclopedia of wrestling, watches dvds from WM1 onwards! we were only watching hogan vs andre the other week (the one with the famous body slam!)

he as a wii too so ill look into that.

    thanks again.

Yeah exactly. I know when i was 9, i might not have went through with it but the odd time would think, "i wonder could i spear/bulldog/russian leg sweep that guy?"
    The curiosity was definitely there.

The wii games are great, especially the older ones ( i mean like 2007/2008 ish) that really incorporate the wii motions; waving arms, imitating taunts etc.

Also if he is really really into the older guys, wwe legends of wrestlemania came out last year and there is a LOT of preowned copies for the 360 floating about in gamestop and hmv these days.
    Very cheep too.

    Hope that all helps.

    Also,
Whenever you think hes old enough, set him up with an account here.:pac:
