PS3 memory as laptop backup hard drive

It looks like I'll get the 320gb model PS3 very soon and I was wondering if it would be possible to use its hard drive to backup data from my laptop PC?

I can't see that I'll use all that memory for games or whatever and it would save my buying a separate hard drive for backing up my laptop.

If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be grateful.

I haven't looked into it too much but just some quick ideas of the top of my head.

You could install a web server on your laptop, e.g. enable IIS add your backup to the default root directory and you can download the backup via the inbuilt web browser.

You could install a small linux distro and rsynch between the two.

You could manually move the data via stick from usb stick to ps3.

There's probably a lot easier ways but it could definitley be done

You can copy video and music to it over your network or via a USB device, but doing any more than that will be a MAJOR pain in the swiss tbh.
If you don't think you're going to use all of that space, why not just get the 120GB model and save for an external drive like a WD passport? (or wait until the end of the month for the 160GB model)
