My birthday is coming up and the woman wants to bring me away to Galway for it. She was going to book the special 2 nights with breakfast and one night dinner at the Carlton hotel with does have alot of high reviews. To be honest though I'd rather go out for dinner and theres no way I'll be up for breakfast :D

After doing alot of reading we can't choose now. Seems like lots of hotels are cheap enough for example
    Courtyard by Marriott,
Menlo Park Hotel seem like better hotels.

I'd love to get a place that has Jacuzzi or Jacuzzi style bath in the room :D I know loads of places have them in the hotel but that wouldn't be much fun with laods of kids running around the place I want to get away to relax and perhaps treat my G/F and myself to a nice relaxing spa with massage.

Can anyone recommend a nice place?

    Thanks very much

The Courtyard has a spa as part of the hotel which sounds perfect for you. Not sure what accom is like there but the bar seemed to me to be more of a business-type place, no atmosphere at all. Menlo is a nice spot to stay, one of my favourite hotels in Galway actually, but they have no spa facilities. Lot of locals come to the bar at weekends, plus there's usually an atmosphere if there's a match on. Carlton has a good leisure centre but it's open to the public. All 3 are a little out of town, maybe 5-10 mins by car from the city centre.
You could try the Radisson, they're much closer to the city centre, as is the Harbour Hotel. The Meyrick is right on Eyre Square. All 3 have spas in the hotels. They're probably handier for you to stay in given that they are more central.

I think you can't beat the Radisson tbh. The location is perfect, and there is always a great buzz about the place. If you can spare the cash - the executive floor is a real treat :)
