Yep there is a traffic line number but unless you are willing to give a statement to the Gardaí they will do feck all about it.

I know as I reported a Bus Éireann bus that drove out of a junction in front of me before which I was lucky to miss.

They called me back 4 weeks later and asked would I give a statement.

    Maybe it has improved since

I don't see why you're surprised at their attitude, as far as they are concerned the only way to deal with crap motorists is to haul them up before the courts and have them convicted of dangerous or careless driving and they won't issue a summons unless they have a statement which shows that someone is prepared to go into court to backup the original allegation.

Otherwise the system would be abused by people using it to get even with people they didn't like by making anonymous complaints to the Gardai.

I had no problem giving my name, details and a report of the incident. Thats how they managed to call me back lets not forget

The Gardaí wanted to go to court, all I wanted was them to have a quiet word with the driver

I have no problem with Gardaí and them doing their job, without them the roads would be carnage but I don't feel court is always the answer or the most effective solution
