Lexus intoduces the new 100h, a heavy lumbering pile of sh1te full of batteries

Doesn't have the same appeal when the real description is used.

    Sorry, it's actually the CT200h.

The interior is certainly a big step up from the 1 series?

Looks like an Opel Signum with smaller headlights in those photos.

I hate it with a passion, the Germans can do ugly well, the Japanese can't.

    If you get me.

Looks like a sonata at the front. Looks a little dated?

Imo they should have spent the money on improving the auris and giving it a top quality interior and independent suspension across the range.
Give themselves a player to worry the golf and establish themselves in European markets as a serious maker of family cars.

Instead we get a non runner to fill a niche.

A Prius in a posh frock. The car needs a proper diesel engine to sell in Europe though.

I'd nearly suggest an Impreza, Original IS200 and PIOUS had a threesome

Although I do like the interior

it dosent look too bad, but it got a bad review in that irish times link and a bad review in ingear,
they said in ingear if it were competing with fiestas or corsas it might be ok, but its priced at £23,485 in england and expected to cost near €30,000 over here,
im sure it will still sell, but i can think of better things to do with €30k

The price is silly. I don't think it will do well here. People are more careful with their money these days & that car is not value for money.

30k for a fancy hatchback that looks like an upmarket mazda3/impreza??? If i wanted to pay full wack for a Lexus its definitely not the first model i would think of. The interior is nice but that picture of the exterior in the OP is probably very flattering. I have a feeling its quite dull in the flesh. Could be wrong?!

Drop the price to 25/26k & it would be a different story.

yeah a price tag that high will put a lot of people off, it seems to be similar to the prius aswell,

aaahhhhh mazda 3, i knew it looked like something i had seen before,

if it drives like the 450h I have little faith for it

pro's : cheap lexus, cheap tax
cons : 1.8 litre , front wheel drive, crossover/hatchback type fugly thing , has to be serviced by lexus because of those f*cking batteries , the weight of the batteries, its a hybrid, that great fuel consumption goes out the window on a 140km/h long drive .

the ls600h is the only lexus hybrid that actually makes sense

its going to be roughly the same price as a 318i with the m-sport pack ...... so i dont see why anyone should buy one aside from being a badge snob, but then you can be one of those about a beamer

Lexus seem to be on a downward spiral to permanent sh1teness these days.

It is seriously ugly, and to me it looks to be a very poorly made interior. If a Lexus can't look elegant(or at least nondescript) and have a nice interior then there is not much point in having one.

    Its so bloated looking.

Its like a fat bird in Gucci - premium yes, but still fat.

I've big hopes for the next gen 1 series - if it looks good I would be interested.

So long as they don't make it FWD then yes it could be a very good car!

    I think it sounds intriguing?

Not sure about the styling, though...
