Just noticed something on my Facebook and am wondering whether or not other people have noticed it/have a reason for it!

Basically, you know on the homepage there are occasionally random photo albums on the right hand side of the page that one of your friends is in etc....
Well I've noticed a common friend whose album appears more often than not(roughly 8 out of 10 times), does Facebook have some odd, very odd, system of selecting whose photos they choose!?!?!

It's testament to my day that this issue makes it as one of my 'top issues of the day'!!!

Heartbroken lovers eager to get over their exes will no longer have to worry about running into painful old photos on Facebook, now that the social network has decided to automatically remove all unwanted romantic nostalgia from its 'Photo Memories' feature.

The 'Memories' box, which appears in the top right corner of some Facebook pages, used to display photos of all your friends who were tagged in the albums of yesteryear. As Mashable explains, the site automatically generates the photos with the help of an algorithm that determines which friends you're most interested in, based on your online behavior.

The idea, of course, is to help us re-live our fondest memories with our favorite friends, but many users were upset that the system would occasionally flash pictures of old flames, bringing back difficult memories. Fortunately, a protest group caught the attention of Facebook Photos Project Manager Sam Odio, who confirmed the change in a comment on an All Facebook post yesterday. "I'd like to let you know that we're listening to your feedback," Odio writes. "The photo memories product no longer shows tagged photos of your friends if you were previously in a relationship with them."

The catch, of course, is that Facebook only knows you're in a relationship if you previously declared so on your profile. Unfortunately, then, it looks as if all of your old photos with unconfirmed boyfriends, flings and awkward encounters will continue to haunt you for the rest of your life.
