i know on the 4 if you start typing a reply to somebody then exit out, when you go back into that particulat messege conversation, your text is still there.

not exactly a draft but it holds it for you. if its a long piece of text and your worried about it, copy/paste it into notes and copy/paste it back in when you need it could be one way around it.

Stupid feckin iphone - just lost a big text because it does uto save drafts.
