Size: 54cm (listed asa ‘Large’ size) compact-style, steel frame and fork. (135mm rear axle spacing.)

Bought as complete bike in 2005. I also have the original fork which has the steerer tube cut very low. I bought another one with an uncut steerer and added headset spacers for more upright position.

Gearing: One side of rear hub has an 17t 3/32 ACS freewheel, the other a cheap 17t fixed 3/32 cog with lockring. Front chainring is 42t. This equates to gearing that is probably on the lowish side for the average fixie/ss, but it suits my preference for spinning, as well the thicker than normal tyres.

Tyres: 32mm commuting tyres (front new Bontrager Hard Case, rear old Panaracer Pasela). SKS widish-profile chromoplastic mudguards.

Other components worth mentioning: New-ish On-One Big Foot saddle and Charge ‘spit’ riser handlebars, Avid V-brakes, really old and scratched shimano 105 172.5mm cranks and newish Shimano UN72 bb, old Shimano SPD pedals.

Unually among fixie/ss bikes, this frame has extra mounts for a rear rack. To make it even more useful, I can throw in a used black Blackburn EX1 rear rack (can fit before sale) for an extra €15.

Condition: Good condition and working order. Well-looked after. Has a few minor scrapes that a frame will naturally pick up over 5 years, and a little superficial rust on the drop-outs. Close up, some might even regard it as a little battle-scarred, but without over-egging this point, I think it adds to its potential courier-chic

Lovely bike to ride, a perfect commuter/courier hack. I’ll be sad to see it go.

    €200 (€215 with blackburn rack)
Celbridge area, (but sometimes in Dublin town).
