M50 Southbound - Red Cow Exit

Just a quick heads up for anyone who usally takes this exit in the evenings. I'd expect it to either be very heavy, or closed completely this evening.

Was just out on the Nass Road and there is a Truck on it's side agains the barrier on the Southbound off ramp to the Naas Road outbound.

Last time this happened I think it was closed for a day or so, and then down to 1 lane for at least a week.

I'd avise a different route this evening - maybe the N4 and outer ring road to save getting stuck in what's more than likely going to be a big tailback.

Dump truck carrying sand so there is quite a bit of sand on the road where the Naas Road goes over (ish) what used to the the roundabout. From listening to Live Drive it's usually bad enough there as it is, so could be a nightmare tonight.

I am facing the Red Cow now, Traffic heading into city centre is heavy. Heading to the interchange from city centre, ie Dublin to Naas, is moving quite well.

    Live Traffice report for OMM....

Something similar happened there a month or so ago ??

The road camber there seems a bit much for HGV's

It was moving okay but slowly at around 4.20ish. Down to one lane on the slip road off the m50.

It was moving extremely slow at around 6 this evening, got stuck from just after the Toll until the Red Cow where I got off.

Traffic was backed up from north of the Lucan exit as far as the Red Cow exit at around 6.30pm

Thats a tight bend for trucks, maybe they need new signs

Here's a video from earlier taken from my dash cam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axz3Cjrg-24

Quite a lot of sand had spilled over, it's just a good job it wasn't something like a load of bricks or the news could be a lot more grim!

In all fairness whoever designed that whole junction layout needs a kickin

Its madness having all of those lanes crossing and merging at the very top. I'm surprised there isn't more accidents

And its a basket case on Friday afternoons when I pass through, I'm sure its the same all week though for everyone else

Signs wont make truck drivers who dont look at them slow down. Plenty of the junstions have 30km speed limits on the bends (ie blanch) but people dont obey them.

Theres only so much hand holdign the authorities can do.

Took me ages to get home today because of it how does someone turn a truck over on a little road?

It would amaze you how many truck drivers dont realise the weight of their truck when carrying a load and continue to drive as fast as cars on the roads. Thats all fine until they loose control. How on earth do you capsize a truck on a spaghetti junction? That is beyond me.

This thing happened recently enough and they had just put a new barrier in. One lane was closed for ages while they fixed it!

Passed there at about 3, just before the rush started, it was utter madness!
