    hi

i am having this nc4400 laptop for more than 3 years now.
the system has gone very slow.
i was told to clean up unwanted things from laptop to increase speed
it has 1gb ram, so it is less i know.
    cleaning was not affective.

then i was told my resetting laptop to factory status, you may delete everything and can start from fresh

so i have taken out my required data into external disk.

i have the recovery cd from HP as there are no recovery option from internal HDD
the system has no internal dvd, so i have a external dvd writer

    what should i do next?

should i insert cd and follow the instructions?

is there anything i need to do other than back up of data?

i dont know my MS office keys? how do i copy it and reinstall it?

i have xp pro and office 2003
