    Hi All

My aim is to make this years full moon party in Ko Phangan

I plan to fly on the 27th/28th December so dont have much time to spare

Once I arrive in Bangkok, I am looking to get a connecting flight to Ko Samui. Anyone done something similar & how long did it take? Would I make it it that timeframe in time for the 31st taking into account recovery time from jet lag etc?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    Hello..
First off... Good Choice:D The new years eve full moon party is like nothing else on this earth... Its the ultimate new years eve party:D
You will get a flight from Suvarnabhumi to Koh Samui fer about 3500Baht thats about €80 and the flight takes 45min.to 1hour you can book this direct online just go to the bangkok air web page..
dont worry about the jet lag that will only hit you when you fly back to ireland along with the depression!!

The most important thing is getting somewhere to stay if i were you forget about staying on Koh Phangan everywhere around Headrin will be booked solid!! what i do is stay on Samui and get the speedboat across on new years eve but go early!!! last year i nearly missed the countdown i only landed on the beach literaly as they were counting down!!
If you need any other help PM me!!

You won't get them that cheap. I paid 8455 Baht for a return flight from BKK to Samui....flying in mid-December 2010. That works out at €216 return. Bangkok Airways have a near monopoly on that route so prices don't fluctuate much.

You Paid 8455baht... Return!! im talking about one way.. you should pay about 3500-3800 for your flight down the leave it till 6th or 7th of January to fly back up then you will get it cheaper when all the mad rush of people have gone home...

Just booked flights to Bangkok for meself and my girlfriend yesterday. Flying out on December 27th. Planning to do the exact same thing. Heard great things about the full moon parties and I imagine new years eve will be even better. Never been to Thailand before. Anywhere else we should head for that won't be in lonely planet?

Myself and the OH heading too for new year party. We had to get a flight from Bankok to Suri Thani as Bangkok to Samui flights were pretty much booked out until the 31st and thats way too late to get in the party mood. Hope to get the ferry over to Phangan on the 28th.

Think we are going to stay North of the Island around Haad Salad or Aow Thong Nai Pan as its away from the full moon madness but still on the island. Heard them boat journeys back to Samui can be rough with an oncoming hangover.

I'm traveling for the last month and aim to be in Thailand for the 12th Dec. I will prob stay a few nights in Thailand but aim to be down in Samuai or Koh Phangan around the 18th. No accom yet. Looking now.

Full moon party on 21st, 25th and 31st,
    Two questions.
Would hitting the 3 be just two much. I like a good session as much as the next but would 10 or more days to to expensive and get boring.
Can anyone recommend accom. It'd have to be cheap enough-backpacking and travelling alone!
