I'm completely new to golf but I'm looking to buy a set of cheap clubs. I see that you can buy clubs that are slightly longer, like the ones on this site.

I'm fairly tall (6'2), so is this what I should be looking for?

    Thanks in advance.

McGuirks in Howth have always carried a range of 1" longer clubs for tallies. Take a spin out there and have a look.

Most clubs are designed for men of average height. About 5ft 10 or 5ft 11. I've a second set of clubs which I've used from a handicap of 24 down to 13. I'm only 5ft 7, clubs are probably a bit long for me.

Don't worry about the technical things of golf clubs when your starting out. A second hand game improvers set is all you need to start. Your setup and swing will change the height of the club so much for a beginner that an inch will not make a huge difference.

Just try to enjoy the game and remember the good shots not the bad ones!

Your height isn't the deciding factor it's the distance between your hands and the floor. I'm 6ft 4 and wwhen I was measured standard length clubs were fine for me (I must have gorilla arms) although the lie was 0.25 degrees out and I needed a larger grip as my hands are an XL.
