    no point really tbh.

your not supposed to be importing aegs without a retailers liscence.
although from what ive seen on here, the law isnt fully brought in just yet.

Ull be fine importing an aeg from Asia as long as its under 1 joule and all retailers will offer a downgrading service for a price.Usually around 10-20 dollars.

    http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/
    http://uncompany.com/
    http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/

These are 3 of the main sites I use Im sure others will post some more sites for you.

And this should be in the questions section.

Are you sure about that, as in have you ordered an aeg from asia since the ban, had it downgraded and recieved it ok? If so then have you any idea when the import ban will come into effect totally?
    Thanks.

Yep I sure have, with no Problems well besides Irish customs holding it for a few days to test it.That law was passed nearly over a year ago ( correct me if im wrong) and i have never had any problems.Id say the irish airsoft association would be the best place to ask about the current enforcement of the law.Heres there web site.

This is a Polish site, so European, so no customs. I bought a couple of AEGs, no problems.
PS click on the flag top right.

Yes. They changed the spring. They are fully aware of the Irish situation.

At the least. You can sometimes be hit with an extra 3.5% custom duty and, if a courier is used, you'll always be hit for admin charges, or whatever they name them that week, for the courtesy of bringing the item from customs back to the delivery truck. That's usually somewhere in the €15-€20 bracket, depending on the company.

Just because it's comming from Poland doesnt mean "no customs" - surely it just means there's no import duty because it's coming in from within the EU.

AFAIK it can still go through customs for inspection and destruction if above the legal limit (with the potential obvious consequences).

Yup, anything coming into Ireland, no matter where its coming from, is subject to inspection by customs.

EDIT: With the exception of Diplomatic Bags from countries we have a diplomatic relationship with. So if you knew someone in the Chinese embassy...... :)

Please forgive me. I used the word "customs" in place of the words import duty. That is all I would care about. So what if they have a look at the parcel. Having said that I don't believe they did stop it whenever I got stuff from there. Either way, it came through fast and duty-free.

Two other sites. I have no personal experience of these, but they were recomended to me highly though.

To order from Taiwangun.com do you need to specifically ask to downgrade and how do you do that? In the ordering process or after by email?
    Thanks.

Personaly, I rang them, but I don't think there was any need for that. An e-mail should do.
