Hey folks, another zombie enthusiast here looking to pick your brains (no pun intended :p)
So as a hobby I've started to write a book/short story about a z outbreak in Ireland and was wondering what people would imagine if there was an outbreak here.
The story is basically 2 men trying to get out of Dublin to Portlaoise to get their families and from there head on to Cork and out to sea. The infection is spreading west following an attack on sellafield showering radiation on the east coast. All manners of obstacles obviously get in their way, not just the shambling undead, but is their anything unique any of you might add from your own imaginings? Ill post up more details later but I'd love to hear what others think would happen in a country devoid of firearms and a decent military for protection.

For inspiration you should pick up a copy of The Estuary by Derek Gunn. It came out in the summer of 2009.

It deals with a Zed outbreak in Ireland which starts in the Waterford/Cork region.

It is a good read and Derek has posted on here a few times. His vampire series is pretty good as well.

Brilliant Kess thanks a million for that! I never heard of that book. Heres me thinking I had a unique idea :p

I've always thought it would be neat for the storyteller to realize at the end the entire story was his "life story" being shown to him right before he completes his transformation to a zombie.

It is a good idea, but has been used already in one of the Zombie Anthology books. :)
