Just wondering if anyone knows any solutions to dry skin patches as i have them on my face & it's so annoying.

I eat healthily, drink loads of water etc so don't know what the cause is. Has anyone got any suggestions of any good remedies, creams etc (i've tried E45, a roc hydrate +, a neutrogena one but with no success)

For vanity purposes i have to wear make up everyday  so i want to try to get it to clear up asap. Also i have fairly sensitive skin so probably need to get something fairly good quality if anyone has any recommendations, just don't want to be wasting money on anything else useless..thanks.

I get dry patches too, I think Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream helps, don't know if it will for you, try see if you can get a sample at a counter maybe!

is it just little patches as opposed to overall dry skin?

if so, lush do a new balm for dry patches (i cant remember for the life of me what its called-think its maybe ultrabalm..? i could be wrong!) its really rich, kinda like vaseline so its only for bad patches but it seemed really good! i didnt need it but i tried a little and it felt really nice! might be worth a try! especially if you have sensitive skin!

i dunno about an all over moisturiser for dry skin though, especially if you have sensitive skin, although again id recommend lush products, maybe go in and ask if they could find you something for your skin type. i find their stuff really good, and have never got any irritations or anything from it.

When I get a cold and I have a horrible, dry, painful looking red nose I put a little lip balm on it. It works a treat, I've even used it on dry patches on my face. If it works on your lips it should work on your face. It did for me! :)

I have oily skin myself, but my friend was plagued with dry patches and tried everything (don't bother with Creme de la mer btw, she said that was an expensive mistake!) anyway, the only thing she found that worked was Dr Haushka rose cream, about €20 in the local health shop. She swears by it now.

Yes, just dry skin patches, only gets bad every now & again so something must trigger it but can't figure it out.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, i'll take note of them all & start to tick them off until i hopefully find something that works!

What works for me is putting on lots of raw coconut oil on my face before bed - it has all night to absorb. If I do this for maybe a week, it clears up.

I have also heard of people doing this with olive oil.

could be anything from diet to stress, im the same, my skin changes so often! although i rarely change my skincare regime!

sometimes i find that my skin will be dry in the winter because of having the heating on and stuff, it just dries out my skin, might be worth trying some bowls of water under the radiators.
also people drink alot of tea and warming drinks in winter as opposed to summer when they'd go for hydrating drinks/water, which might affect your skin as well if you're not getting enough water.

obviously these may not be the cause of your dry skin, but they are worth thinking about now its getting colder.

I use Botanics Face Super Balm, ya buy it in Boots, it's about eight euro. I tend to get dry skin around my nose, especially in winter so I just slap some of this on at night before I go to bed and it sorts it out.
