Boot has mould in it after holiday away

I was away for a month and when I got back I opened my boot to put some shopping in and was horrified to see it covered in mould inside.

I had a wine bottle break a while ago that I thought had dried so maybe that was what caused it?

I'm going to try cleaning it this weekend but am a bit worried as I have to go away again in December for three weeks and really don't want a repeat performance, it is a bit disgusting, any recommendations?

Clean it properly and job done, mould will not grow on clean things that do not have living cells on them even in moist, warm conditions. Another poster had the same recently, the bum parts of his girlfriends car was very mouldy, back ones were perfect, he didn't like the scientific explanation :pac:

Friends of mine left two 2 litre bottles of milk in their car, for two weeks... They exploded... Yeah, ended up driving home with all the windows down, scarfs around they're mouths and copious amounts of perfume and deoderant sprayed around the car! Count yourself lucky :P
