Audi A4 Whats it worth?

    Hi,

Just bought a car from a UK 4 months ago but I want to change it. Its an Audi A4 2007, black, cruise control,17inch alloys,72000 miles and 170bhp (this hasn't been chipped).

No other mods done to it, pretty standard A4. Im wondering how much I should ask for it?

Its got full Audi UK service history, timing belt done etc. Can I sell a UK car in IReland? Do I have to get the VRT changed over?

    Any advice.

Thinking of getting a bodykit on it before I sell it (but that could narrow the resale market for it? so I dont know yet)

Waste of money if you're selling it - it won't increase the cars value, depending on your taste it could end up a skangermobile that nobody would ever want.... you get the point :P

Bodykits are things you get for cars you're hanging onto, they personalise the car (and in most cases, make a shíte of it)

Do you suggest that price with or without the VRT?

I was thinking maybe around €14000 but the reason for that price was because i was looking for a Audi A4 from donedeal before and they were generally going for around 7-8K for a 04 model.

I see that point about the body kit, some people love them but some people hate them. I might just keep it the way it is.

I'm half thinking of going to the UK and seeing if I could trade it in. Although Im not too sure how that would work considering if would have been exported. Ill look into that.

Why are you selling it so soon?

I didnt do my research with the insurance!!! I rang my insurance company and they said they could switch it over and it would be only €150 extra, I said Brilliant no problem!! Thought everything was grand.

Bought the car, brought it home and rang them to swap over the insurance (the garage in the UK covered me until i got home) and they wouldn't insure my wife on it (she is on same policy) as she only has a provisional licience and the car is classed as high performance!!

We live in Dublin but she from waterford so would need the car to go home some weekends (like she did with the old one).

Haha you know what I probably wont but I was thinking it might make it go quicker? There is a company called j j reily in longford and they have UK cars but they are charging LOADS for them, I wonder if any of them sell?

11k, maybe I should do what some people do and get a bodykit and add an extra 4K haha

Your post confuses me. Is the car still on the UK reg over here ?
If so I don't think you could sell it in Ireland unless you regularize its VRT status

    Dont mind them.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:...;)

They think the word special in the ad puts the price up 1k. Your customer for a 07 a4 wont want a body kit. And and if you are advertising it dont brag about the 170 bhp. That makes you look like a boy racer or a hard driver...;)

True, no the reason I mentioned the 170bhp and plan to is incase someone who buys it has trouble insuring it.! Like I did. Last thing I want is to sell it to someone and they come back to me saying they cant insure it.

Yes the car is still on UK plates. I was going to change over the VRT but then I have decided to sell it. I heard something about me being not allowed to sell it alright but i thought it might be just if its a brand new car from the UK.

But surely if I sell the car on UK plates and someone buys it from me its not like when the buyer goes to VRT it they wont let them? If thats the case might just go back to UK with it.

Im am going to take some pictures of it and stick it up on the net tomorrow.

(Dont know if im allowed to post links if not sorry and delete)

That car above is the same as my one. Thats going for €11225 (according to xrates), granted it has the sat nav and radio on the steering wheel. Mines black and thats wine, but it has same alloys, same twin exhaust (most have the twin exhausts beside each other) and same seats. Does colour make much difference with price?

I was GOING to get the sat nav on mine as it was only £200 extra but then was told that Id get charged VRT on it so said no thanks.
