    Hi,
My laptop has one speaker. recently everything that I play on it, from radio programme podcasts to music stored on my computer sounds like the chipmonks! I've checked my audio settings and everything seems normal.... Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance,

What do you get through the headphone jack.

Try booting from a linux live CD like ubuntu (Dont install linux just try it) or knoppix.

What are the sound settings like using that OS.

If its fine with linux its a software issue so start by updating the driver.
