I have finished fallout 3 but want to play the DLC. Its much MUCH cheaper to buy the Game of the Year edition than fork out for each individual pack from the PS Store.

However what i want to know is will my old save games be compatible with the GOTY disc? Or will i have to replay the whole game?

If you're a Playstation Plus subscriber all the Fallout 3 DLC is free starting tomorrow with the first three DLC packs free for a week, then the last two next week for free.

    Probably your best option.

I first bought the game on its own, got pretty far with that, then i purchased the game of the year with all DLC, i put that disc into PS3 and my game saves continued from old disc, and it also installed all DLC as i played on. I didnt need to start again as my old game save spicked up where i left off.

If i join for 90 days will i only have access to the DLC for the 90 days or can i have it forever?

This was asked on the PlayStation EU blog and they said they weren't sure and would have to check.

The DLC is only available this week for free and the next 2 are out and free with plus next week only. I'll check tonight and see if there's a time on the DLC files if so then you'll only have it for the 90 days.

**You keep DLC forever even after the ps+ is expired** << Lies :P

Regarding the saves, you can use your original games saves to continue with the DLC/GOTY

In most cases you don't unless you paid for it with plus discount it goes after the end of the time if it was free and not a promotional game like LBP at the start, the only stuff you get fully are themes and avatars.

I see, thanks for clearing that up :)

That's not true I think, when Plus was first announced the DLC was listed as something that would not expire. I don't even think there is a way for DLC to be time locked as it gets installed into game data/save data on your PS3 and not the game section.

I could of sworn that too, but the playstation wiki says otherwise

Here's the relevant link. Note it says:
"Exclusive Content – download and keep loads of new and exclusive premium avatars, dynamic themes and game add-ons."

DLC is lumped in with the things we already know we get to keep forever - avatars and themes.

Like I said, I don't think a method even exists within the PS3's firmware for DLC to expire.
