Has anyone been to The Glasshouse Restaurant at all? I've had a look at the website, but they don't seem to have a menu up yet, or on their facebook site.

    Anyone know what it's like?

Thanks very much PollyPocket10 :) After reading the menu, I have to say that I had pretty much the same though as yourself. It seems to be limited enough alright. Nothing really special jumping out at me there.

The Glasshouse in Limerick is a perfect romantic spot for dinner. I love the food and think the 'feel' of the place is fabulous!

I had dinner at the Glasshouse and my food was absolutely delicious. To me it is more important to have delicious food than it is to have a menu with every different type of cuisine available.

For a starter I had the goat cheese salad - divine, exactly what I want from a salad!
My main was the chorizo pasta - yumm!
Then dessert was heavenly - chocolate molten cake. I love chocolate, so I LOVED this!

And to make it all even better, I had great service. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel welcome.

I cant wait to go back!

Sounds like you had a great meal there, munstergal! :)

What was the occasion? I'm looking for somewhere for a romantic meal, would you recommend the Glasshouse for it?

Is it that obvious ;)?! I did have a great experience!

I would recommend it, especially on a busier night, great ambience with the river and candles lit, etc.

Ps- the yummy cocktails downstairs sure help aswell!

    No.

    Not at all.

    - I have an 'Associate' that has severe dietary aggronitis - He basically flies into a manic range if his Food hasn't been puréed and sieved through the Chefs sock before serving.

Would you recommend the Glasshouse Restaurant to him?

I took the wife there last month for our anniversary. Have to say the food was lovely. It was a pretty busy night (it was the night of the munster v toulon match) but we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of the people either side of us. The only issue I had was there was no plain mash, only champ but I got the chips and they were lovely. I'd recommend the place

You could try it at home any evening of the week :p. Buy decent sausages, a tin of baked beans and make some chips! And there you go!!

I know but it's one thing I would never buy at an evening sitting in a restaurant due to the huge mark-up in it. Now lunch time that's a different story!!

Great spot, the front of house staff v good. Jason, superb service and well up to speed on the ingredients and food. Guinness needs work, told them this and said wouldn't charge for it if wasn't happy.
Don't be put off by the down stairs when u first go in, v hard do something with it.

Def worth a visit snd will def be back, hope the high standards continue and the high standard continue and the bad luck of previous disastrous ventures isn't contagious to this great spot.

Wishing the glass house all the best.

Take it easy, you know what I meant!

And its not ye, its they.

I have only had a few dishes, so I cant really comment on the texture of the purees. However, I am hoping the chef has a finer sieve than a sock... especially a sock after a long hot night in the kitchen!

Was there last night and was suitably impressed! The food is just awesome and on that sitting alone has become one of my favourites! I think its going to take from the Cornstore once it gets more popular

Think by bill was €12 or thereabouts.

Was stuffed afterwards the chips were a meal on their own! and there was a nice mix if different bean types ( im no bean expert )

Am heading back there tomorrow! looking to work my way through the menu!

    :)
