I was just thinking that to find any information on any camera or lens problem a good googling is involved if any information is available at all and I though of an Idea for a sticky thread

The thread would consist of troubleshooting of common problems and also a list of common faults and how to recognise them saving people time and frustration when it comes to simple problems that can be easily overlooked.

I will be happy to contribute what I can to start it off and any additional problems and solutions from others can be added to make a good knoledge base for everyone to use.

also on a side note perhaps people could name equipment that has failed on them and what the problem or cause was so a public database can be made listing models, faults and how many have been reported with each model etc...

any thoughts from the mods on this?

Seems like a good idea to me.

Rather than another Sticky, maybe we can use this thread and link to it in the FAQ thread.

yeah that sounds like a good Idea, in the next day or two Ill rewrite the first post into what I intended and can add info from there on. If it gets going enough with people contributing their problems in the past etc... Ill make a database for reference and comparing the reliablility of different models and the likes.

    Cheers
