Modified Classic Insurance

Has anybody any experience in seeking insurance for a modified classic? For example a Mini with a Cooper style conversion with a 1.3 litre engine replacing a 998cc. Is there any insurer that won't cause a fuss when a slightly bigger engine is installed?

Carol Nash told me they couldn't care less what lump I have under the bonnet, when I enquired about replacing it with something less weighty. Iow, tell them but it wouldn't cost any different.
