A few of us are scattered around the country due to work etc etc. we've had an idea to meet up somewhere for a weekend and get a round of golf or 2 in. Anyone any suggestions? Most like somewhere in Leinster, west of Ireland or somewhere on the east coast.

Anyone know of any hotels that do a good rate for nights accom + round of golf?

Try the Atlantic Hotel in westport. Stayed there a few years ago for a golf weekend. For golf Westport, Castlebar and Ballinrobe are all within striking distance and Westport is a great spot for a night out. Matt Malloy's is excellent if you like Irish music.

Some other post recently about similar deals. Best I've seen is Druids Glen for the month of November, 1 night B&B and 2 rounds (1xHeath 1 x Glen) for €85 euro. Or on yourgolftravel you can get Carton House similar deal for about €110.

Think Mount wolesley have some good offers at the moment. Easy to get to from most parts of the country with the new motorway too. Went there for 36 holes in a day earlier in the year and was very enjoyable. Nice course.

I believe Tulfarris are doing great deals (golf + dinner + B&B). Don't know the exact prices but a colleague went there with his "clique" and I think he mentioned it cost something like 70 euro all in? Something like that anyway (it was midweek though)

Did tulfarris earlier this year for 75 inc BB , Dinner and Golf on a Sat night. Was great craic and course was in good condition.
Also If you want to venture a little further , Templepatrick is about 8 miles outside Belfast. I think we paid about 65stg inc BB Dinner and golf . Lovely course aswell with the benefit of cheap drink and sterlings good now too !!!
Its about 1 1/2 hrs from Swords.

Dunmurry Springs Golf Club, Kildare - 2 miles from exit 13 off the M7 is centrally located & easily accessible for people coming from different parts of the country.

October/November 2010 - €100 for 1 Dinner B&B in the Silken Thomas & 2 rounds of golf in Dunmurry Springs.

Apart from the golf you can visit Kildare Outlet Village - a good spot for some Christmas shopping, go horse racing in nearby Naas & Punchestown or relax in one of the good pubs the town has to offer.:)

Heres a link for Druids , but it just mentions unlimited golf , not which courses.

    Still sounds good though.

They also have an offer priced at 95 (it's on the right hand side) which is better as the 89 offer is golf on one day, the 95 is 2 rounds over 2 days

thanks for the advice folks but I'm looking for weekend only offers - mid week won't do.

That what I thought originally but if you try booking the £89 deal for say Sat 20th Nov then it allows you to choose a round on the Saturday and one on the sunday. As it's unlimited as long as one is early bird or sunset on the day you want to play 2 then you could get 3 rounds in. I'm sure you get 4 in if you play early bird both days.

    Blarney €75 for 2 rounds and 1 nights B&B.

I know it's not where the OP was looking for but might be of interest to others.
