If they caused you no trouble then why not get the same pair again?

Asics are the best imo, gel nimbus or 2150's.

go to a shop, talk to the staff, try on a few different pairs.

Great deals in Lifestyle at the moment on Asics. I picked up two pairs of Kayano 16s for 90 Euro each. They'd usually be 150. Started wearing Kayanos 5 years ago and see no reason to change. Great for long distance work.

Yes, A good sales person in a specialist shop would be the best way to go.

Slightly off topic but I bought a new pair of runners after the Dublin 1/2 this year as my old pair were at end of life and I was beginning to get blisters.

I love my pair and have run all my training runs since the half in them including LSR's of 18 miles and 21 miles with no issues. The other day I felt a twinge in my left calf and was just wondering if this could be attributed to the new(ish) runners?

How long do people think it takes to bed in a new pair of runners?

BTW Got new pair in specialist running shop after GAIT analysis, same type as previous just different make. Moved from Asics to New Balance on the advice of the shop assistant.

I've never had any issues bedding in new runners. I've often taken runners straight out of the box and done over 15 miles on a first run on them.

Certainly, if you've done a good bit in a new pair since getting them, I wouldn't be putting your twinge down to the runners being new.

Cheers Forest, maybe being new isn't the issue but I'm just wondering if changing my runners may have altered my running style slightly causing me to put more strain on my calf? Of course this could just be pre-DCM taper madness going on and my injury has nothing at all to do with my runners.
I'm just interested to hear about anybody who has had issues with runners and how long it took the injury to surface?

    They shouldnt need bedding in.

And in my totally amateur opinion changing shoes without professional advice could well cause some aches and pains. Unless the insoles are identical then there's going to be some adjustment in your body.
