Obligation to have bank account

    As a sole trader am I obliged to have a bank account or can I just manage my own money at home? I have my personal account but my earnings have been so low in my venture of self employment that any money I earned I simply wrote down in my books in the house here and did not bank it....

    Hi,

    You're not obliged to have a bank account, just to keep proper books and records.

    As mentioned above you are not obliged to have a seperate bank account.

    As long as you keep a proper record then you will be ok.

    Make sure you keep all receipts for expenses paid out of you personal account and by cash.
