Oh holy god I have never cried so much on a Monday night ever!!!!!!

I've flicked in and out of this program (16 & pregnant) every now and again and never thought it was any use - seemed really trashy and just a load of kids arguing with each other after getting themselves into big messes. I only ever managed to watch 5 mins of it etc.

But oh jeez this one episode which I watched tonight was completely heartbreaking!!!!!

The kids were giving up their baby for adoption. It followed them through the whole pregnancy, the picking & meeting of the adoptive parents and then eventually the giving up the baby. The girls mother and the boys parents did not support them doing it. For silly kids they were so sensible about the adoption. But even though they were doing it to give their baby a better life it was so so so sad.

Has anybody else ever seen this episode??

Oh I watched this tonight too! I was bawling! What a sad episode. Catelynn and Tyler were so mature about the situation. I hope they don't regret their decision. The adoptive parents seemed so nice and I have no doubt that they would raise the baby really well. It was heartbreaking watching them hand her over though. I can't imagine what it must feel like to do that but at least they had each other, they seemed really in love even though they are only 16. I think it's great that they were able to choose the adoptive parents and that they can send presents and receive photos of their daughter. I thought Tyler was so mature when he said he wanted the dad to be educated and have a college degree, he really wanted the best for his daughter, the complete opposite to his own situation.

It really was so so sad though, I hope Carly will watch that episode when she's older and see how much her biological parents loved her and she understands why they made the decision that they did.

Catelynn's mother really seemed to have issues.....Catelynn was definitely the mature one in that relationship.

The adoptive parents were so incredibly nice, really came across like good people.

oh god this program is going to haunt me for a long time!!!

i have to question a network and program which uses such sensitive real life issues, puts the under microscope and then thrusts them in the public eye to make money

You can accuse any network of that, for any "reality" tv...i think X Factor is on big con job and a cash/ratings grab.

    Did you see the program?

I thought it was done wonderfully. Handled really sensitively.

Do you really need to keep bumping this to tell people?

Anyway there's a thread in the reality TV subforum

    Eh I've bumped it once.

Jebus who got up on the wrong side of bed this morning. God forbid I might bump a post on the tv forum about a tv program which people may or may not want to watch or may or may not want to discuss.

I've watched this whole series and Catelyn & Tyler (and their baby Carly) are the ones I remember the most.

    What brave brave children.

    A really moving programme.
