Hi all just a quick question, Are the Gardai meant to were high vis jackets when out of the patrol car ( hiding) I mean preforming speed checks, I passed two today in Moncoin (Kilkenny) with the squad car parked around the corner Lucky no one was turning left there lol, Don't get me wrong anyone speeding going past a school should be nabbed, But with saying that for their own safety should they be more visable, or are were these two just being nasty?

How were they being 'nasty' for doing their jobs?

Maybe they should be required to put a warning triangle 100m before the speed check or what exactly are you saying they should do differently?

No I think you and Silvera missed my point, In any job if you are issued with PPE you must wear it for your own protection and that of others,I do not speed and pay strict attention to speed limits, But the unexpected does arise for everyone,These two Gardai were not visable until you were on top of them, in the case of a motorist having to take extreme action and choosing to hit the wall instead of a child say They would have been killed, I have the utmost respect for the Gardai and would not do their job for twice the pay, Also as I stated in my first post anyone speeding at a school should be nabbed. Where they were anyone speeding was caught as the came into the village, so not wearing their high vis jackets did not achieve anything, I just wanted to know are they meant to wear them when they leave their squad car. Just a question not a dig at them
