How to close a bank account?

I have a bank account that I havnt used in about 3 years. How do I close it and is it more trouble than its worth trying to close?? Any suggestions welcome

Empty it out and send them a letter?

Pop into the branch it was set up in and tell them you want to close it. Bring photo id with you.
