Anyway paid him in full and told him il collect it with trailer in 3-4 days and would that be ok said fine..
Went down on 8th and hes in france for the week and car was moved to the lower area about 300-400 metres from his garage and car was ok then, but went down today to collect it and some front grills lights etc were took or stolen off it about €280 worth of parts, he not accepting responsibility for this .what should I do now?

not much you can do, the car was complete when you paid for it, the seller let you keep it there until you collected it, you really should have taken the car without delay

id be ringing some where for parts and order them and just get on with it,alot of blame has to lay with yourself, once you hand over the money deal is completed the seller obliged you by letting you leave the car there.

i viewed it at his garage then he moved it way down there and wouldnt mind but loads of space up around the garage

the seller is a car trader - do this change anything

he could have told you there and then it has to go ive no space and would you have parked it on the footpath untill you could lift it

If my car was in a dealers of any kinds care for whatever reason I expect it to be in a similar condition when I collect it. The fact the car is not a runner doesn't matter. I'd be trying to get something back from him if it was me.

ok thats what i thought too

i still think by his expressions it took them off himself or give permission to have it done but can prove it..

You paid him for the Car, after that the car became yours.

However he agreed to keep the car until you picked it up, the car at this time was under his care. IMO while under his car he is responsible for making sure its secure.

yes i paid him in full for the car and asked if it alright i pick it up in 3-4 days and did say fine..as there lots of space at garage where i first viewed it i presumed it would remain there until i collected( if it had to be going it would have been took home there and then but was not) it not moved away where it was... could be bits missing from engine even...
anyway i have left it there at his place as didnt know what to do as wasnt going to take it like that..

Where do i go from here?

I'd be inclined to believe this also, I doubt thieves would come prepared with tools etc and remove select items like front lights and grill with the car beside a dealers garage. Suppose when dealing with such crooks you should have paid a deposit on initially viewing the car with the remainder on collection and inspection.

I'd push the garage for a refund of the missing items but I don't know how you can effectively force him to refund you without evidence. If he's accredited to any affiliation like SIMI you can always lodge a complaint with them as I have done against one used car dealership in Dublin.

He's a registered Trader but fairly small and sells them from his garage beside his house... so there is really nothing i can do then...just hate letting him off with it as paid enough i think now for the car and now with bits missing makes it worse...
