Starting CAP1 Lectures

Thought I would start a thread for people (like myself) that are starting CAP1 lectures very soon (some of which won't have started their training contracts yet) to get general advice. I'm not really sure what to expect to be honest as I will be starting the lectures before my training start date and don't know anyone thats done this before.

The first thing I'm actually wondering at the minute is what do people wear? I would assume casual clothes as people would be sick of wearing suits by the weekend.

    What should I bring?

Is there any preparation I should do before the first class?

Any help or any general advice you can think of would be great,

    Thanks

Casual clothes, whatever you want really.

Have you picked up your books yet? You may want to bring them to the first lecture and then see what the lecturer says after that. You probably won't need them for most lectures.
Just bring the same as any lecture: pens, A4 pad, calculator and what ever other stationary you in to.
I wouldn't bother doing anything before the first lecture. They start from fairly basics.
A lot of people complain about the lecturers and in fairness some of them are quite bad, but I would advise going to as many lectures as possible.
The first real test of you will have is the double entry book-keeping exam, so if you want to start working early then focus on that and pass the exam as soon as possible

I'd advise you to start working on that DEBK exam before you start work if you have the time. It makes life much easier if you can get to grips with debits and credits straight away and if you pass that exam.
