Right! So I need a new battery for my honda jazz (2003) and as my car won't start now and i've no jump lead with me this week I was thinking to just go out and buy it and try to fit it myself. My little brother has done this before so I figured I could probably give it a try, Is this mad?

Also, where would ye recommend for buying this battery and at a good price? Somebody told me Halfords.

Also... what do I need to look at on the battery to know which one to buy?

    Appreciate any help!Thanks a mil.

If you have a 10mm spanner and a 13mm socket with an extension bar it's quite doable (might manage with a 13mm spanner if access is ok down there). If you don't have them you don't have a hope really.

A 10mm nut holds each cable to the battery terminals, 1 +ive, 1 -ive.
13mm nut holds the battery to the tray.

I picked up a wee basic mechanic kit in Homebase a few months ago for about 30e - I'm under no illusions that all the parts are cheap as chips and won't last decades, but always handy to have. Let me remove and install the battery from the van I was driving at the time. No harm learning wee bits like this.

True but it's worth it for the smile on your face when you fix something all by yourself :)
