I got a replacement battery from China for an Inspiron, think it was about 30 Dollah. It turned out a piece of crap, it couldn't power the laptop with the power supply disconnected.

I ended up buying one direct from Dell, it cost about 90 Euro but it worked.

Unfortunately had the same problem with an Ebay Non Oem Battery. Powered my Inspiron 9400 fine but the laptop refused to charge it - the BIOS explaining that it won't charge Non OEM batteries.

Looked on Dell site - €136 for the real deal.

    Steep...

You can turn off that non oem warning in the bios.

You can find genuine Dell batteries on Ebay too, they are pricey in comparison to the China rubbish, but can be a lot cheaper than buying direct from Dell. Just make sure to check the feedback of the buyer thoroughly.

never buying dell again, absolute rubbish when it comes to laptops.
I have an XPS M1330, top machine when I got it, but it has given me nothing but headaches...touch keypad for multimedia, motherboard replaced, graphics card gone, and then battery and ac adapter outside of warranty, dead spots on screen.

Just wondering myself if there's anywhere reliable that will provide me with a Dell OEM battery - one that is 100% OEM Compliant.

I'm looking at DuracellDirect.ie where it's priced at around 85 euros vs Dell at 130+ euros but am afraid of being stung again after being hit with a dodgy chinese battery already.

yeh i have had Identical Problems with an xps 1330 as listed above, the 3 year warranty was the best money i ever spent.

Had a friend that bought from these guys said they were fine, might be the cheap chinese Sh*t mentioned above but they have a 30day money back gt at least. might be worth a look.

I used that site, got the battery, worked for a little while, but then stopped charging. I ended up getting one from Dell. Working fine so far.
The Dell one cost about 100 quid, after I got the new battery, the internal battery for the clock went and could get it to boot.
Need to get another year out of this baby now!!
