So, what will you be doing first when Cataclysm launches? Blowing through to lvl85 so you can raid? Taking your time with the new old-world content? Flying around Azeroth admiring the sites?

For me, it's all in the low level stuff. I can't wait to see what they've done with the old zones. I've avoided looking at pretty much any screenshots of them, as i want to be surprised. Hopefully they bring the quests to a Wrath level of quality as well, as they have learned a fair bit about making good quests in the 6 years since launch. New race (Worgen), new class (1st time with a Driud), new experience (at least thats the plan).

After that, i think i'll get my Rogue to lvl85 and start PvP'ing.

    Im not sure tbh.
Ive 5 lvl 80s and really cant pick a main.
My Holy Priest has been a main for so long, the only class i dont have to 80 that interests me is a mage but some people say it plays too similar to a destrustion warlock which i got bored with, found it even more boring than affliction and Demo.
Since raiding is what i play the game for [when subbed] ill more than likely hit 85 with a toon first.

Pay 200g in Stormwind for oldworld flying :)
Buy new JC receipies for +30 stat gems.
Scribe all the glyphs for my various characters Iv sitting in my bank.

Deffo gonna leave the Worgan starter area for at least a week as its nothing but bottlenecks if more than one person questing in it.

start levelling to 85 i guess. Really cba levelling another char from 0 regardless of how much the old world has changed. And yeah, the starting areas are gonna be pretty stuffed for the first few weeks.

Im still feeling completely underwhelemd by this expansion. Ill probably feel different come december.

Hmm, i hadnt thought about the starting area's being so packed. Now that you mention it, i might level one of my 80's up a bit before starting one. Only problem is....which one?

Leveling the shammy to 85. This will involve doing lots of new BGs, and quests in the new zones.
Doing a lot more old BGs once there's a load of Worgen to smack about and the queues aren't ridiculously long.

Goblin bank alt, leveled through the starter zones. Worgen for the same, probably.

When's 4.0.1 go live, this Wednesday or next?

    this wednesday according to boubouille.

It will be interesting to see what sort of havoc the changes in stats and at ratings cause amongst guilds that are still raiding.

Fish, fish, fish, fish to get the server first max level.

Not really, but it struck me today that it would be pretty easy to do and you'd most likely have very little competition.

Sorry i havent been following wow the last 6 months or so,what are they changing?

I intend blowing through to 85 as soon as I can. Farming to be raiding ready is never quick at the beginning of an expansion so the sooner I'm 85 the quicker I can get all the necessary Rep and gear and start hitting the Raids.

Gonna take it nice and slow, i did the server first races in Wotlk and found it very demanding on my social life, hardcore raiding is out of the question this time around, after i get my main to 85 i think i might start a new character for a change, it's so relaxing to potter around leveling a new char.

Nothing that they didn't announce last year at Blizzcon...

-Spell power gone replaced with Intellect
    -Spirit specifically for healers
-Gear reforging (replace one stat with another)
    -Armor Pen gone
    -Resilience no longer prevents crits

Total re-design of talent trees. 41 points, with a minimum of 31 in one tree to specialise, then 10points to put in other trees once the 31 point level is hit.

    Stuff like that!

DC there's a shedload of changes to the classes too.
The UI for spellbook, professions, talents and the Character screen have been tweaked as well

    mmochamp summarises it pretty well:

Hang on, what? What the **** is the point of collecting Resilience gear then? Have they given PvP gear any other boost?

    reduces damage taken.

I guess with health pools being so much bigger, youll need the crits to actually kill someone.

note to self: December 6, log out in Exodar... or Feralas, Desolace, the Hinterlands...

Kicking myself knowing that trying to get online this afternoon in Dal will be horrendous.

good post, ive no idea what ill do ive a few 80s and imm going with my shammy as main.

ive avoided most of the beta info too, only bits here and there so as its all new. Ill probably leave my current guild as i dont want to be racing to 85, one you seen those achiements pop up allt he time it will be dam annoying. Did it last time around and it was a huge mistake, i picked the wrong too and did one raid in maxx and quit for for a few months lol.

Gonna take it slow enjoy it and try find a new guild i think, not that i dont like the one im in, been in it 4 years (jesus that long lol) but i need a change.

Will burst my druid to 85, then my mage to 85, whilst raiding druid.

Few of us are trying to get some days of work ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,946 ✭✭✭red_ice

my accounts frozen atm, but ill more than likely work my 65 rogue up to 85, then priest, pala, druid, shammy/dk if i cba with them 2.

i think the games gonna become alot more interesting with ganking etc. Low levels getting ganked which will mean guilds will bring members along to help out which will make great fun imo.

no real expectations or plans, just gonna play the game and see what happens

Nah, I dont think thatll be the case tbh. There was a similar feeling in the last 2 expansions but apart from a MASSIVE crowd of 14 year olds waiting outside the DK area for the first dks to emerge, the world pvp stayed pretty much the same. Therell be a little more than the usual amount of ganking around lower levelling areas, but guilds will be too busy actually levelling to go help rerollers.

Wow is just not really a world pvp friendly game.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,101 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

There'll probably be less ganking now, as higher levels will be flying everywhere.
