Closing Business - Dole entitlements

    I set up a business in January of this year and have been on the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance. This Allowance will finish for me later this month. Unfortunately, the business does not seem to be viable and I will be closing it down over the next month or so. I would like to know what my entitlements to governments benefits will be once my BtWEA is over and my company has been wound up? I have never taken a penny in salary from the company.

    I thought you cud still get full payments for the first year?

    Well ,, im afraid not a lot is the answer !!!!
    plus it depends on how many stamps you had before you started up your business !
    and your personal circumstances .

    i closed my business after 3 years ................

    ( well dident have a choice ,cant get paid for work done & no one with any money to upgrade or service ! )

    but ( this is the truth ) i was laughed out of my local dole office ..
    told i was entitled to nothing !!!! as my wife is in full time employment , im getting nothing ..
    not even to sign on for credits !!!!!!!!
    so im thrown out of the system !!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

    after working all my life & creating revenus & paying taxes ,,, im entitled to nothing !!!!!!!!!!!

    also i went to the citezens info & meet with a nice lady & i asked her what i can do from here ...and i was handed .................


    a book on how to emigrate to austrailia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    now that was like a kick in the arse to me .
    so basicaly your on yer own & this goverment dont give a damn about you !

    Manta mad, i cant imagine what went thru your head when you were handed the info on moving to Oz.

    When it comes to being self employed, the tax / social welfare system is so outdated!
    There would be more people willing to set up on their own if they knew they would have something to fall back on,

    but instead of that, as you know from your experiences you are kinda f****d and have no safety net of any kind if the gamble doesnt pay off!
