Hi, trying to sort out my makeup, got quite a bit, and was wondering if people had any tips on what they use to store their makeup??

Mine is all chucked in a bag with a zip on top - you can buy cases for it too but the bag is handy if you are travelling. I have a similar problem to yours with costume jewellery, none of the jewellery boxes are suitable for storing the chunkier stuff.

Im watching your thread for ideas. I really should organise my stuff a bit better.

As for make-up brushes - Im stumped - how should they be stored....

My sister has an industrial sized makeup box which she says works well (she has a LOT of make up).

I use shallow trays from ikea and have them in the top drawers of my dressing table. Everything is split up, easy to see and the trays look nice (they are wicker).

Jewellery is stored in small zip lock bags (about 1/5 size of normal zip lock). It keeps my earing together, stops jewellery getting wrapped around each other, and makes things easy to pack.

Make up brushes I'm not sure about either. They are kept in a mug on top of my table.

I've been travelling constantly for the last 10 months for work and will continue to do for quite a while. As a result, I have a core amount of makeup and brushes in a nice-sized Cath Kidston bag. It's really solid for travelling, wipe clean etc.

For everyday makeup I use a large make up bag that I got in TK Maxx - they usually have a big selection. I love mine cos its wipe off and is firm so keeps its shape. I keep all my brushes in a brush roll in the bag.

I have a large woven basket yoke with three drawers that I got in Heatons that I keep stuff I dont use every day in. They usually have good storage solutions. I also have a few pretty boxes I got in TK maxx that I keep stuff like my waxing kit etc that I dont want on display in the bathroom in.

I have a little basket that I keep my make up in. I also have a big enough make up bag that I keep my essentials in. Unfortunately my bags aren't wipe clean but it is sturdy. It has a little pocket for brushes but my powder brush won't fit in there! :(

i have ALOT of make up too and had previously been keeping them all in big makeup cases but found i was never using majority of the stuff because i would have to find what bag something was in and search through it etc.

so i bought some storage drawers in dunnes a couple of weeks ago (basically a tallish narrorw stand with about 4 drawers on it comes in black, white or straw) and now i have one drawer for foundation, concealer etc, one for eyeshadows, one for mascaras/eyeliners/fasle lashes/glue etc, one for lip stuff and its so much handier have everything close at hand and can easily find things beside having to root through loads of bags of stuff :)

then i just keep the stuff i use everyday in a smallish makeup bag

I think finding something wipeable clean is the main thing! Will have a look in TK Maxx for a bag, but need something else for the left over stuff still emmm.

I have a brush roll for my brushes, there's a brush holder on the elf site though that I wouldn't mind for all my other bits and bobs, emmm

Penneys do biggish makeup bags for stuff you wouldnt be using every day - the bag is a little deep for everyday so youd be rummaging but perfect for stuff you dont use that often!

Estee Lauder always do a promotion around this time of year on a make up collection when you purchase a fragrance. The set always includes a large case which is great for storage, usually includes brushes or make up bag too. I usually get the perfume for someone as a christmas present and treat myself to the make up!

I think I really am looking for more of a drawer type thing, I've been trying to have a look around town for a tabletop plastic drawer system, but must be going to all the wrong places!

Will get the penneys one as well I think though for a dump bag for the bulky stuff

I have this baby from Sephora

This isn't my exact one but it's the same case. I love it, it means you can see all your make up at once.

I use a little vase thingy for my brushes and have a thing that has lots of slots for lipsticks. I have a lot of make up.

If you are ever out near Carrickmines, have a look in Howards Storage World. They have some cool make up storage thingies. http://shop.hsw.ie/ProductDetail.aspx?Option=Category&OptionParameter=110

I use this, it fits nicely just inside the press and the drawers are a nice size. I have a drawer each for face/eyes/lips nails/hairthings. I have a little basket that sits on top and I put everyday things into this like deodorant/ moisturiser/ hairbrush.

Really want a smaller one though, don't have the space for a full sized furniture, I'd already looked in argos and saw those, but will totally check heatons out, thanks :):)

I got a big set of plastic drawers from Howards Storage World, and a few smaller containers in there too for the insides of the drawers.

I'm a bit of an organisational freak

I keep my brushes in cups on top of my desk - one for face and one for eye brushes.

I get inspiration for make up storage by watching videos about it on youtube.
