I was watching a country music show on TG4 last Sunday night when suddenly TG4 started to show the Sky Channel Guide (You know the blue background with buttons like Entertainment, News and Events, and Sports etc.) It froze for a few seconds showing the sky guide and then it went back to the country music show. This happened about 7 times over a duration of an hour. The thing is I was watching it from a tv set connected to the aeriel as I don't even have sky in my house. Again in the early hours of Saturday morning I was watching a french film on TG4 and the same thing happened again. The program kept vbeing interupted by the Sky channel guide. Am I the only person who has noticed this and what the Hell is going on at TG4 to let this happen?

RTE use Sky boxes as backup feed for analogue

With DTT coming they are doing a lot of transmitter work and sometimes the fibre feed or rebroadcast reception is interupted.

If all goes well next year they will have their own Satellite feeds and DTT will be running.

A few weeks ago on another forum there was some guy foaming at the mouth ranting about "pirates" hacking into the RTE network to broadcast messages from a skybox and how he was going to report them to RTE, COMREG, The "Guards", The Ombudsman (?), The EU, The UN, The Pope, The Dali Lama and even Bono* :D

Would have loved to hear those phonecalls............

    * OK Im exaggerating but only slightly

Well, that explains it, didn't know what was going on! My hubbie reckoned it was the neighbours' remote control and was using it as yet another excuse to give out about them!
