    Without going down the route of modding it, the first step in reducing noise is to install your games.

    I guess a new DVD drive would also be beneficial in this case, but some of the regulars would know more about that...

    Yup, install to your HDD.. I can't see the point in not over clocking the fans when you play from disk, the DVD drive's nearly worse!

    Certain fans are quieter than others too, Nidec are supposed to be the quietest (this is of the stock fans).

    The ultimate solution to silence is liquid cooling, but it's not for everyone! :pac:
