Shsh blob and downgrading problem

I used Autoshsh in April to back up my shsh blobs for my ipod 2g for os 3.1.3 . It saved my shsh's to my computer so I have a copy and it said it had saved to the cydia server successfully also. However I checked to see if I can recover those blobs from cydia using tiny umbrella and it says I have no blobs saved there.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Can I still use the shsh blobs I have saved on my computer to downgrade to 3.1.3 even if they aren't saved on cydia ?

Try moving the shsh file to the tiny umbrella folder where it keeps the shsh files. On Mine its at C:\Users\Redshift\.shsh
Then if it doesn't pick it up you might need to use Tiny Umbrella's naming convention. IE rename the shsh file from Iphne_3.1.3_blob.shsh to xxxxxxxxxxxxx-iphone-3.1.3.shsh where the Xs represent the UUID of your iphone.

Then just use the TSS server in Tiny Umbrella

just use the firmware umbrella server to answer the shsh challenge response

also make sure you do your downgrade in dfu mode.

The problem is that I tried using umbrella but it said it had nothing saved.

I followed your advice Redshift and it seems that putting the ipod shsh into the umbrella folder you mentioned worked & umbrella can now find it on my computer although not on the server.

So is it correct to say that cydia only store your shsh... they don't sign it or alter it in anyway , and the one I have stored locally is just as good ?

Thanks very much for the responses everyone. Much appreciated.

Right, if you can see the shsh blobs in umbrella, as in when you press display shsh's, then all you have to do is click the "start tss server" and then perform a shift restore in dfu mode.

This essentially runs a tss server from you local address, you will notice if you open your hosts file now that gs.apple.com will now be pointing to 127.0.0.1 which is you local pc address.

sum up in short, press "start tss server" button and then restore as usual
