The sixth series of Doctor Who will open with a two-parter set in the US, the BBC has announced.

Scenes will be filmed in the Utah desert for a story set in the late '60s in which the Doctor, Amy and Rory find themselves on a secret summons to the Oval Office.

They've also said that River Song will be back next season. I enjoyed seeing the Dr in an American setting in the animated show they did a little while ago so I think this could be fun :)

Awww, was just about to post this, haha, I'm guessing then that we're going to meet either President Nixon or Kennedy. Kennedy's the obvious choice, but Nixon would be far more interesting. He's nearly always written as a bad guy & so it'd be kinda cool to see the Doctor vs. Nixon

I reckon we should petition the mods to delete any episode discussion threads you don't get to start next year :)

I'd like to see Nixon vs The Doctor. Or Kennedy, only shown as a bad guy.

If this is an attempt to make Doctor Who popular in the US, I just hope it goes better than the eh... last time they tried that!

Doctor Who does pretty damn well in America.

It could be argued better than here, we don't do anything like this:
