Tesco Clubcard App - Help Needed.

    Hello,

Would anyone here be able to help me with the following?

I have made a Tesco Clubcard app for Android similar to the official one available for the iPhone - http://www.appbrain.com/app/tesco-clubcard/com.clubcardapp

You enter your clubcard number and it displays the barcode to be scanned at the till and also shows the number of points you have.

It works fine for UK clubcards however I think that the Irish ClubCard numbers are different.

Could anyone provider me with an Irish clubcard number and a login to the site http://www.tesco.ie/clubcard/default.htm?osadcampaign=LB2ClubCard.

    Thanks in advance.

    Stephen

Hi - I have an Irish card and logon to the Tesco site. I actually used your app today and it scanned no problem at the till. Points added on to my account. However on the Tesco website I see the following

The Clubcard number you use on Tesco.ie purchases is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx535

Sorry, it is not possible to provide your points balance at this time. Please try again later.

If you can confirm your status and ensure you will use my account only for the development of your app and allow me to change passwords etc when you are finished then I will send you the details.

Moderator - can you confirm these details please?

Did the Tesco website work before you used the app?

Do Tesco Ireland have temporary clubcards (basically a leaflet with a barcode on) that you can pick up in store? If someone could get one of these for me and give me the number and a picture of the barcode I can register it and use that to develop the app.

Website never worked for me - I believe that we cannot get points balance here in Ireland on the website

I will certainly get a temporary card for you and send on the bar code - if you want to PM me your email I will send it on in the next few days

Why dont you contact Tesco Ireland?

Tesco have done an App for all other platforms and nothing for Android. Big up to this developer for trying to get us up and running on this - if Tesco cant be bothered to do it for the fastest growing platform why would they bother talking to the dev?

Who said anything about talking to them about the development of the app?

All the dev has to do is request the info required.

Is apparently the link to check points balance in Ireland. Can anyone tests if it works?

I will try contacting Tesco Ireland and make up some crap about moving to Ireland and see if they can send a card to the UK or something!

moderators do not have any way to verify a users identify or honesty. do you share personal details with other users on the internet is my advice.

Apologies if I've missed the point but normally if you give a link to a set of phone numbers and email addresses then your more than likely going to end up talking to someone.

Also believe I saw a Moderator checking validity of someone posting as AA ROADWATCH before so sorry if I was off on that too.

Dev. I will still send you a temporary card and details if you need them

"Also believe I saw a Moderator checking validity of someone posting as AA ROADWATCH before so sorry if I was off on that too."

the boards staff can contact the company through official channels (and vice versa) to confirm identify but cannot vouch for an individual.

A mod I am sure could check my email address and could confirm to you that its the same one listed in the Android Market for me.

Or email the address listed and I will reply to confirm this thread is mine.
