Importing from South Africa

Has anyone experience of doing this who can recommend a company?
Container or RORO?

The cars would be 1980 or earlier so vrt would no be an issue.
I'm guessing that I would have to add about 30% to my total costs to cover taxes and fees.

VRT might not be an issue, but you'll still have to pay duty

....which will attract VAT as well I think..

Be careful who you get to ship the car and dont do it AT ALL unless you are 100% sure of them as South AFrica is rife with crime and stiories of empty containers etc are legion.

I won't be doing anything until I have all the figures and find someone reputable down there.

I found the car today so I'm waiting for a reply to my email.
The car belongs to a dealer, the address given is PWV, (google says province of Gauteng) and is for sale at R 16,900

It may never happen but there's no harm in dreaming!

no somone else did. I did look into getting another though and decided not to having heard a LOT of horror stories.
