'99 W208 Power Issue

    Hi All

I had my wife's W208 (CLK 200 Cabrio) serviced a couple of weeks ago, hoping that the power issues it was experiencing would be cleared up, but no such luck. It's got a lot worse. We took it out for a spin yesterday around the Wicklow Gap and there were times where I thought I was going to have to get out and push.

Under 1/3 and 2/3 throttle, it's ok, but go all the way to full throttle and it almost feels like the fuel is being cut off. It struggles with anything over 4k RPM. Gear changes (auto) are erratic under full power as well, you basically need to lift off to get it to change.

After some googl'ing I'm leading toward it being a MAF issue, but then a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

    Any ideas?

sounds like a faulty air mass sensor, best bet is to get it checked for fault codes
